Benes: "The game had everything"

Laszlo Benes was naturally very pleased after Hamburger SV saw off Schalke 04 in a special 2. Bundesliga opener.
The new 2. Bundesliga season kicked off last night with an entertaining, high-scoring affair as Hamburger SV defeated Schalke 04 5-3 at the Volksparkstadion.

Laszlo Benes, who scored two of HSV's goals, felt the game "had everything".

"It’s an indescribable feeling. I felt that everyone wanted to win the game. It was just really enjoyable. We are pleased that we won today. The first game is always important, especially against an opponent like that. The game today had everything that makes football what it is," Benes said in a post-match interview.

"We know that we have unbelievable quality and we have also strengthened our team with some new signings. Obviously, we are also hoping for our injured players to recover quickly because we will need everyone over the course of the season. We know that today was just the first game."
