Reports: Anderlecht remain interested in Hazard

Belgian journalist Sascha Tavolieri reports that RSC Anderlecht are still interested in acquiring Dortmund's Thorgan Hazard before the Jupiler Pro League's transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Reports emerging on social media that Dortmund's Thorgan Hazard may yet return to his native country have finally been confirmed by a reputable footballing journalist. According to Sascha Tavolieri, RSC Anderlecht are still interested in taking the 30-year-old off Dortmund's hands. A transfer to Belgian remains possible through Wednesday.

The BVB would gladly wish to shed themselves of the player's significant salary. Whether or not Hazard himself wishes to take a pay cut remains another matter. Dortmund themselves have been previously reported to seek a fee of around €5 million for the player they once paid Gladbach €28.5 million for. It stands to reason that the Westphalians nevertheless may be prepared to accept less.

Hazard only logged six minutes as a substitute for Edin Terzic's BVB thus far this season during the opening round. He was not included in Terzic's matchday squad last Friday night against Heidenheim. Hazard spent last spring on loan with PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Erdevisie. He scored two goals and collected an assist in 12 appearances across all competitions.
