Bayern boss: Neuer's return from injury " no longer far away"

Manuel Neuer is close to returning to team training, Bayern boss Chrsitoph Freund has confirmed.
Bayern Munich's sporting director, Christoph Freund, has revealed that Manuel Neuer is expected to return to full training in the near future.

Earlier this month, Neuer came close to returning from the broken leg that has sidelined him since December, but then suffered a setback with a calf injury.

Now, it could be just a matter of days before the veteran goalkeeper is back training with his teammates.

"It is no longer far away. I think it can only be a matter of days. Of course we are a bit more cautious, because he has been out for a longer time now, the load control is important," Freund told Bild.

"I hope that the next few days, the next week, will be positive and he will be with the team again," Freund continued.

It remains to be seen when Neuer will return to action, but Sven Ulreich will certainly be between the sticks against RB Leipzig on Saturday.
