Matthäus slams Dortmund after loss to Bayern: "A difference in class"

Lothar Matthäus felt Bayern Munich were a class above Borussia Dortmund in tonight's Der Klassiker.

Former German international Lothar Matthäus didn't hold back in his criticism of Borussia Dortmund following the Black and Yellows' 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday night.

"That was an inexplicably poor performance," the Sky pundit said after the match at the Signal Iduna Park.

"They didn't show today that they are a top team. They deserved to lose 4-0. There was a difference in class today.

"Of course there's a lot of frustration now - especially when you see how they lost. They really went down. They didn't put up much of a fight, they didn't get into the tackles and they didn't have any pace," Matthäus said.

Bayern are now unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Dortmund, winning 10 and drawing one.
