Nürnberg consider pick-up of free-agent striker Andersson
Without a club since Köln opted not to extend his contract, 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg confirmed that 32-year-old Swedish striker Sebastian Andersson has been auditioning for the team.

Andersson scored 12 goals for Lautern during the 2017/18 campaign. He then netted 12 tallies again for Union in the following season en route to helping die Eisernen achieve promotion to the top flight. Andersson also scored 12 times for Union in the 2018/19 campaign; the East German club's very first season in the German Bundesliga.
The player's move to the cathedral city nevertheless proved to be a total flop. Andersson, amid injury struggles, scored just six goals in two seasons with the Gerißböcke. The nine-times-capped Swedish international did manage to help Köln out with two strikes in the 2020/21 promotion-relegation playoffs.
The free-agent maintains an estimated market worth of €500,000 in the latest transfermarkt update. Second division side 1. FC Nürnberg confirmed on Wednesday that Andersson was training with the team. The Franconians may be interested in picking the veteran up.
"How long Sebastian will stay with us remains open," FCN sporting director Olaf Rebbe remarked in a Wednesday statement, "However, this [training stint] gives us the opportunity to observe him more closely and get a better idea of him."
