Henriksen backs Zentner after howler: "A fantastic man and goalkeeper"

Bo Henriksen did all he could to support Robin Zentner after the goalkeeper's howler proved costly against Bayer Leverkusen.
Mainz put up a good fight against league leaders Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Friday, but ultimately lost 2-1.

A mistake from Robin Zentner proved costly, as he fumbled Robert Andrich's winner into the net.

But Mainz coach Bo Henriksen didn't blame his goalkeeper and came out to defend him after the match.

"Mistakes are part of life. He has done fantastically well since I've come here, he's a fantastic goalkeeper. But now we have to build him up," Henriksen told Kicker.

"I told him he's a fantastic man and a fantastic goalkeeper. I said: 'You have the spirit and you just have to show it. At the end of the day, we know how good you are. Just go out there, be confident, be brave - and I promise you, you'll save us before the season is over.'"

With the exception of the last fifteen minutes before half-time, Henriksen was pleased with his team's performance and said he was "proud" of his players.

"Everyone is disappointed, that says it all. It means we did something right. Everyone gave their best."
