Borré has not featured in the Werder starting XI since his sale was confirmed. Prior to the sale, he netted four league goals for his current loan club. Head-coach Ole Werner has grown comfortable with German striker Justin Njinmah in Borré's starting slot. Whenever Werner requires more of a physical presence alongside Marvin Ducksch in attack, German youth international Nick Woltemade has been given the nod.
"We have analyzed the situation and decided to enter talks," Fritz said on Friday, "We feel that we're in a good position with the other lads in attack. Matters remain open in both directions."
Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Werder are seeking some compensation for allowing Borré to depart ahead of schedule. According to "Sport Bild", a sum of €750,000 is being discussed. Presumably, the two sides have an additional six days to come to an agreement. The transfer window in Brazil closes on March 7th.
