Thomas Doll's job as head coach of Hannover 96 seems to be hanging by a thread ahead of the club's important Bundesliga game against Schalke 04 on Sunday.

Speaking to Bild, Hannover boss Martin Kind refused to guarantee that Doll will keep his job at the relegation-threatened club in case of a defeat on Sunday.

"We should wait for the match against Schalke and the result," Kind underlined.

Thomas Doll was hired by Hannover at the end of January following the sacking of André Breitenreiter, and Kind doesn't conceal that he hasn't been entirely satisfied with Doll's work until now.

"Personally, I have the feeling that neither André Breitenreiter nor Thomas Doll until now have been able to take advantage of the potential of the team," he said.

Kind described his team as 'kaput and badly assembled' following a 1-5 defeat to Stuttgart at the beginning of March.

Since then, Hannover have lost two Bundesliga games in a row, and after a 0-5 loss to Arminia Bielefeld in a friendly last week Kind is left with little reason to be positive.

"The performance in Stuttgart was disastrous. That the performance in the test match against Bielefeld was even worse is extraordinary," the Hannover chief said.

Hannover are sitting 17th in the Bundesliga table with 14 points after 26 games.
