Marin Pongracic has explained why he decided to join Wolfsburg from RB Salzburg in January.

Bayern and RB Leipzig were also interested in the 22-year-old, but he opted for a move to Volkswagen Arena.

"It's true that the other clubs were interested, although it wasn't that concrete. Wolfsburg had been in talks with me for a while. I could have made the switch in the summer, but I didn't do it. Afterwards, I wasn't happy with my playing time in Salzburg. [VfL Wolfsburg coach] Oliver Glasner has a similar playing style to the one we had at RB. That suits me," Pongracic told Sport Bild.

The centre-back was shown a straight red card in Wolfsburg's 1-1 draw with Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.
