Marin Pongracic chose Wolfsburg over Bayern and RB Leipzig

Marin Pongracic has confirmed that Bayern München and RB Leipzig were interested in him before he joined Wolfsburg from RB Salzburg.
Marin Pongracic has explained why he decided to join Wolfsburg from RB Salzburg in January.

Bayern and RB Leipzig were also interested in the 22-year-old, but he opted for a move to Volkswagen Arena.

"It's true that the other clubs were interested, although it wasn't that concrete. Wolfsburg had been in talks with me for a while. I could have made the switch in the summer, but I didn't do it. Afterwards, I wasn't happy with my playing time in Salzburg. [VfL Wolfsburg coach] Oliver Glasner has a similar playing style to the one we had at RB. That suits me," Pongracic told Sport Bild.

The centre-back was shown a straight red card in Wolfsburg's 1-1 draw with Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.
