Popular German tabloid BILD is reporting that Niko Kovač could be more ruthless with his team selection after last week’s poor results.

The 53-year-old boss subjected the squad to a bit of a tongue-lashing after Saturday’s dismal 1-0 defeat to FC Augsburg.

Heading into Wednesday’s UCL last-16 second-leg tie with LOSC Lille, Kovač could drop a couple of first team names for the game.

The former Bayern Munich player stated no player is safe regardless of their position or role.

It is believed that Julian Brandt and Jamie Gittens are two of the names rumoured to get the chop for the starting eleven.

That could open the door for the likes of Julien Duranville, Maxi Beier, or even Carney Chukwuemeka if he is fit again in time.
