Niklas Süle: 'It's quite realistic that I can still help Bayern this season'

Niklas Süle is making good progress in his recovery from the knee injury he suffered in October.
Niklas Süle believes he will return to fitness in time to play for Bayern München again before the end of the season.

The centre-back took a huge step in his recovery from a cruciate ligament rupture on Monday as he carried out his first running exercises since he suffered the injury in October.

And speaking to SID, Süle says he might be able to play for Bayern before this summer's European Championship.

"The European Championship is my big goal. In the meantime, it's my ambition to help Bayern as quickly as possible and to be an alternative again in the final period of the season," Süle told SID.

"I'm confident that I'll soon be able to take the next step with change-in-direction training and with the ball. I believe it's quite realistic that I can still help FC Bayern this season," he said.

Süle, 24, has made 12 appearances for Bayern this season.
