RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche has played down a report from the Weser-Kurier claiming that Milot Rashica is on the verge of making the move to Red Bull Arena from Werder Bremen.

While Krösche didn't deny that RB Leipzig are interested in Rashica, he dismissed speculation that 'Die Roten Bullen' have agreed to activate the 23-year-old's €38 million release clause.

"Some journalist must have confused us with other clubs. We have never had anything to do with numbers and transfer fees of that size, especially not in the present time," Krösche told RBlive on Saturday.

Rashica has been linked with a number of other clubs as well, including Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli.
