Much to the delight of Gladbach captain Lars Stindl, 'Die Fohlen' now have their Champions League qualification fate in their own hands ahead of their final game of the season against Hertha BSC next week.
"We completed the task we set for ourselves today. We were hoping that Leverkusen wouldn't win, and we're delighted that it's all in our own hands now. We want to prepare well and win the game on Saturday," Stindl, who scored a brace against Paderborn, told Sky after the game.
Gladbach coach Marco Rose is delighted with his team's position in the table, but warned his players not to rest on their laurels.
"It's up to us to qualify for the Champions League. But as of now, we haven't done anything yet except qualify for the Europa League," he said.
