RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche has stressed that Hee-chan Hwang shouldn't be seen as a 'one-to-one replacement' for Timo Werner.

Hwang has made the move to Leipzig from RB Salzburg following Werner's switch to Chelsea. Just like Werner, the Korean international is a fast offensive player, who can play anywhere across the frontline, but Krösche isn't too keen on comparing the two.

"We have always said that we wouldn't bring in a one-to-one replacement for Werner, because he's simply an exceptional player," Krösche told Kicker.

Asked what Hwang can add to the team, Krösche responded:

"Hee-chan has already proven that he can make his mark at a high level.

"He he a lot of speed, is good at running in behind and is also capable of finding solutions with his back to the goal."

Hee-chan Hwang, who spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Hamburger SV, played a total of 126 games for RB Salzburg, scoring 45 goals and making 29 assists.
