Daniel Brosinski extends Mainz stay

Mainz and Daniel Brosinski have agreed on a contract extension.
Daniel Brosinski will be staying at Mainz after signing a new two-year contract with the club.

The 32-year-old's contract expired on 30 June, but he has now put pen to paper on a new deal until 2022.

"Daniel Brosinski has proven hit worth in the Bundesliga for many years. He has immense experience, is in top form and is always ready to tear himself apart for Mainz 05," said Mainz boss Rouven Schröder in a statement and added:

"Furthermore, Daniel wants to make a contribution to being an integral part of the team even when he's not in the starting eleven. We have had some very good talks over the past few weeks, which have been very much about identification and responsibility. Daniel is one of the faces of our team, our club and the way in which we want to show our commitment on the pitch in every game."

Since he came to Opel Arena from Greuther Fürth in 2014, Brosinki has made 190 appearances for Mainz, racking up 10 goals and 30 assists.
