Rising RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano has been handed his first call-up to the French national team.

The 21-year-old, who has represented his country at youth level, will get the chance to earn his first senior cap when France face Sweden and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League next month.

"It is a huge honor for me. As a boy I dreamed of wearing the blue kit of France - I'm very proud and will continue to work hard. I'm looking forward to facing Emil [Forsberg] in the first game," said Upamecano following his call-up.

Upamecano has played 113 games for RB Leipzig with three goals and two assists to his name.
