Elated Müller firmly asserts that Bayern are not fatigued

The Bayern express rolls into Moscow on Tuesday for a UEFA Champions League encounter with Lokomotiv. Riding a twelve-match UCL winning streak, the German giants arrive in Russia having not lost in the country since 2016.

Thomas Müller insists that Bayern's heavy schedule doesn't lead to a fatigue factor within the team.

German footballing legend Thomas Müller refused to accept the fatigue argument when his team lost 1-4 to Hoffenheim in the 2020/21 Bundesliga's second round. Trainer Hansi Flick also dismissed such talk, famously remarking at the time that "When tired one can still do well, if only for 60 minutes."

In public statements leading up to the coming fixture, Müller emphasized that congested schedules have always been normal for the German record Champions. "From September to Christmas, we've always had at most one week under the normal Saturday-Saturday rhythm," he noted, "The fatigue argument is always brought forth when other reasons can't explain why one thing or another didn't work out on the pitch."

Müller spoke of how a string of positive results actually increases energy. "It's not as if we have to push ourselves to play football," Müller commented, "It's fun for us, especially the offensive players, who want to creatively shine on the pitch. One doesn't need to order good football with the push of a button. We simply joyously feel it."

Bayern will surely fall back down to earth at some point over the long slog of the season. Even if they avoid a loss, how many times can they keep pummeleling opponents with lopsided score-lines .

Müller stressed that he'll happily deal with a standard of perfection in each and every fixture. "We gladly accept this challenge," he said.
