Dortmund's "Ruhr Nachrichten" newspaper reports that the injury hampering Belgian defender Thomas Meunier is a torn calf muscle. German footballing magazine Kicker confirms the severity of the injury, which should keep the 29-year-old sidelined for the rest of 2020.

Since joining the team in the summer, Meunier started all nine league fixtures for the club. He also featured in Lucien Favre's staring XI in the initial round of the DFB Pokal and the complete slate of four UEFA Champions League matches. After incurring the injury last week against Köln, he missed out on both the midweek UCL fixture and this weekend's round ten Bundesliga encounter.

In other BVB injury news, Kicker notes that Emré Can has been scratched from the club's training roster after aggravating an injury on Saturday. The status of converted left-back Raphaël Guerreiro remains a mystery. A hopeful Lucien Favre nevertheless told the magazine that he may be available for the UCL on Tuesday.
