Nagelsmann questions refereeing decisions after conceding two late goals against Manchester United

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann was left questioning the referee's decisions after his team's 3-2 win over Manchester United.
RB Leipzig advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League with a vital 3-2 victory over Manchester United on Tuesday.

'Die Roten Bullen' were cruising and led 3-0 when the visitors suddenly found themselves back in it towards the end of the game, scoring twice through a Bruno Fernandes penalty and a Paul Pogba header, which bounced off Harry Maguire's arm and Ibrahima Konaté before going in.

According to RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann, none of Manchester United's goals should have counted.

"It was really exciting and intense at the end, but we played a good game for long spells. The players implemented our plan well, especially in the first half," Nagelsmann said in an interview with Sky after the game.

"We shouldn't have conceded the penalty kick and could have defended much better beforehand. However, in my opinion, it wasn't a clear penalty, but a normal challenge. As for the second goal, I think it was a handball, so that shouldn't have counted either. But it doesn't matter now.

"The boys fought hard, I said before the game that they are machines and they showed that again tonight."
