DFB investigates potential spitting incident involving Christoph Kramer

The DFB's judgement arm has reportedly asked for additional visual evidence from Tuesday's Frankfurt-Gladbach match. An incident in the 82nd minute may lead to a long suspension for Christoph Kramer.
The German FA currently investigates a potential spitting incident taking place late in a midweek fixture involving Gladbach's Christoph Kramer and Frankfurt's Sebastian Rode. The former is alleged to have purportedly deliberately spat in the latter's direction.

Given that the distance between the two players is difficult to gauge on the regular broadcast feed, the DFB requested further images, including some taken by the league's executive camera feed.

If it is confirmed that Kramer intentionally spat in Rode's direction, the former national team star faces serious consequences. Germany's FA has a strict zero tolerance policy in place for such behavior.

Santiago Ascacibar was suspended for six games for spitting in Kai Havertz's face during a 2019 match. Earlier this autumn, Schalke's Ozan Kabak missed out on five games after the committee ruled that he spat upon a prone Ludwig Augustinsson.

The current corona-crisis increases the pressure on the DFB to crack down on such activities. A decision on the incident is expected soon.
