Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 15
Ahead of Matchday 15, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
Borussia M’gladbach v. FC Bayern München:
M: Joshua Kimmich, Midfielder (FCB, 17M, 28%) - After missing eight games due to injury, Kimmich already has a goal and two assists in just two games back. With the gap between Leipzig only two points at the top, Kimmich will need to rally the troops if they want to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. In his absence, Bayern have missed his leadership and the team should only strengthen from here on out.
D: Alassane Pléa, Forward (BMG, 15.9M, 1%) - Pléa is in line to start the Bayern match after Marco Rose reportedly said Valentino Lazaro will be unable to play. Pléa made his return from injury in the 64th minute of last weekend’s matchup with Bielefeld. He has a lot of ground to make up to salvage his season but Bayern’s leaky defense will almost assuredly let up a few clear cut chances.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. SV Werder Bremen:
M: Nadiem Amiri, Midfielder (B04, 13.6M, 4%) - Five straight games of double digit Fantasy points for Amiri, keeping him right in the running for one of the top five midfielders in the Fantasy game. Since matchday four, he has become a mainstay of the Leverkusen lineup, only missing two starts in all competitions since that time. He also leads the team in corner and set piece attempts.
D: Romano Schmid, Midfielder (SVW, 5.1M, 0%) - The Austrian has gotten the start the last two matches and has shown he deserves a place in the squad. Florian Kohfeldt will be looking for anyone to bring a bit of spark to the team and change up the tempo. Schmid’s added bonus is he will play a very attacking role for a midfielder.
Sport-Club Freiburg v. 1. FC Köln:
M: Christian Günter, Defender (SCF, 11.9M, 6%) - Köln have not scored a goal in their last three league matches and Freiburg’s defense has only allowed two in the last four games. Günter has the best attacking output of the Freiburg defenders so there is a great chance to capitalize on defensive and attacking points.
D: Marius Wolf, Midfielder (KOE, 4.2M, 1%) - A nuisance all over the pitch, Wolf had a great game against Augsburg, registering four shots, four crosses and three tackles. He has not been rewarded with goals and assists with the fine play he has shown but Köln certainly are happy with his play. He has started every game since matchday four.
1. FC Union Berlin v. VfL Wolfsburg:
M: Sheraldo Becker, Forward (FCU, 3.7M, 3%) - Becker and Awoniyi basically ran Bremen ragged last weekend as they had no answer for the speedy duo. Union is becoming a force to be reckoned with; a speedy, dynamic attack and a strong, physical backline. They seem to only be getting better as the season progresses. With Becker’s cheap price, you can open up plenty of other spots in your quad as well.
D: Florian Hübner, Defender (FCU, 2.1M, 0%) - Only two games on the season but Hübner has certainly played well in both. Finally healthy, he brings a gritty attitude to the defense and he scores very well in ‘WON DUELS’ points with 10 points in two games alone.
FC Schalke 04 v. TSG Hoffenheim:
M: Ihlas Bebou, Forward (TSG, 8.5M, 0%) - In his last six games, Bebou has scored three and assisted two. Three goals and an assist came in four starts and one goal was in two games off the bench. Safe to say that when Bebou starts, his chances of scoring or assisting greatly increase.
D: Mark Uth, Forward (S04, 11.1M, 0%) - There shouldn't even be a conversation about a team in this day and age having a losing streak that would compare to Tasmania Berlin’s 31 game losing streak in 1966, but here we are at 30 for Schalke. Schalke can not let another loss happen and it will be up to the players to make that commitment. Uth was very close to netting a few times in the last match so he will have to make sure they count this weekend.
1. FSV Mainz v. Eintracht Frankfurt:
M: Filip Kostić, Midfielder (SGE, 15.7M, 3%) - With nine shots and four on target in just the last two matches alone, Kostić will feel unjust not having made it on the scoresheet. He has yet to score a goal this season so it is only a matter of time before that changes.
D: Amin Younes, Midfielder (SGE, 6.3M, 0%) - Younes has started the last three matches and has played very well in all of them. He has seven shots, four on target, and one goal in those three matches. He should only start to get more minutes as his fitness gets better.
RB Leipzig v. Borussia Dortmund:
M: Jadon Sancho, Midfielder (BVB, 18.9M, 35%) - These last three matches we have seen the Jadon Sancho we are all accustomed to. With double digit Fantasy points in the last three games and 21 points altogether last match, Sancho should put to rest any doubters he had at the beginning of the season.
D: Amadou Haidara, Midfielder (RBL, 8.8M, 3%) - Haidara played in a forward role last match against Stuttgart and was fantastic with six shots attempted and sending in three crosses. He is the lowest owned player in this matchup worthy of a pickup. If deployed in the attack again, he could reap huge rewards.
FC Augsburg v. VfB Stuttgart:
M: Florian Niederlechner, Forward (FCA, 10M, 1%) - In a very disappointing season compared to last year, Niederlechner finally had a game he can be proud of last weekend in their 1-0 win over Köln. He grabbed an assist and also took three shots. It was also the second time he had played the full 90 in the last four matches, which is also only the second time all season.
D: Borna Sosa, Defender (VFB, 4.3M, 1%) - In a match full of differentials, Sosa has shown to have good value when it comes to his other abilities on the pitch. He has taken over most of the set piece and corner duties from Gonzalo Castro in recent weeks and has shown to make a strong effort in the attack.
DSC Arminia Bielefeld v. Hertha BSC:
M: Vladimír Darida, Midfielder (BSC, 11M, 2%) - Darida is playing his best football of the season at this moment, grabbing three assists and shooting five times in the last three matches. Darida’s work rate is already one of the best in the Bundesliga, if he can add a little finesse and get on the scoresheet more often, he could bring his game to another level.
D: Fabian Klos, Forward (DSC, 8.9M, 1%) - With Sergio Córdova’s injury status in limbo, Klos could figure to bear the brunt of the attacking duties this weekend. He has had some success this season, scoring twice and assisting once in 14 games so the scoring possibilities are there.
