Confirmed: Sahin leaves Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have sold Nuri Sahin to Werder Bremen.
Nuri Sahin has completed his move from Borussia Dortmund to Werder Bremen with immediate effect, the two Bundesliga clubs have announced. The defensive midfielder will join Werder for a reported fee of €1 million.

"We have always emphasized that if an interesting constellation emerges, we will deal with it. This was such a constellation. We are glad that we were able to convince a player of this quality to join Werder," Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann told werder.de following the transfer.

The 29-year-old says he's looking forward to being part of an exciting project at Werder Breen.

"Werder is a big club, and you have the feeling that something will grow here. I'm looking forward to being a part of it," Sahin said.

Sahin left Dortmund to join Real Madrid in 2011, but returned on loan in 2013 before re-joining the BVB permanently in 2014. He has made 223 Bundesliga appearances in total, scoring 21 goals and making 40 assists.
