Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 28
Ahead of Matchday 28, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
DSC Arminia Bielefeld v. Sport-Club Freiburg:
M: Roland Sallai, Midfielder (SCF, 8.9M, 2%) - Sallai has been outstanding the last two weeks, scoring two goals on four shots with a 100% on target rate as well. Clearly having his best scoring season of his short career so far with seven on the year, Sallai will have an even easier matchup against a Bielefeld side that gives up almost two goals per game.
D: Guus Til, Midfielder (SCF, 6.8M, 0%) - With Höler and Demirović suspended, the door has been opened for the young Dutchman to get only his second start of the season as a forward. In his only other previous start, he managed just one shot in 56 minutes but a much better chance awaits this weekend.
Eintracht Frankfurt v. VfL Wolfsburg:
M: Josip Brekalo, Midfielder (WOB, 11.2M, 3%) - Brekalo has been enjoying extra minutes lately with Steffen and Mehmedi missing time and he has certainly repaid the skipper with his performances. Two goals in the last three games is his best run of form all season. Perfect timing as it leads up to the game of the weekend against Frankfurt.
D: Luka Jović, Forward (SGE, 15.6M, 1%) - After a blistering start to his return back to Frankfurt, Jović has been kept quiet for the last two months. He should get his third start in a row for the first time this season against Wolfsburg, and he always has the chance to light up the scoresheet.
Hertha BSC v. Borussia M’gladbach:
M: Lars Stindl, Midfielder (BMG, 16.4M, 10%) - Stindl has played well the last two matches, grabbing a goal and an assist in the process. Currently having his best scoring season of his career, there are no signs that he will be slowing down soon. Certainly expect a few more goals and assists in the coming weeks as Gladbach push for the final European spot.
D: Alassane Pléa, Forward (BMG, 17.1M, 1%) - Although he did not get on the score sheet last week, Pléa was instrumental in Gladbach’s attack in their win over Freiburg. Two weeks in a row with double digit Fantasy points without scoring a goal or an assist shows the type of work Pléa has been putting in lately.
FC Bayern München v. 1. FC Union Berlin:
M: Thomas Müller, Forward (FCB, 22.8M, 15%) - Four assists in his last three games, Müller will continue to lead in Lewandowski’s absence. With Goretzka’s possible omission, even more pressure will be on Müller to produce.
D: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Forward (FCB, 9.4M, 0%) - Choupo-Moting has played decently so far as Lewandowski’s replacement, scoring recently in their Champions League match with PSG. That is his second in as many games in UCL play. If he can translate that to the Bundesliga, Bayern can afford to let Lewandowski rest and not rush him back.
SV Werder Bremen v. RB Leipzig:
M: Marcel Sabitzer, Midfielder (RBL, 16.3M, 8%) - Sabitzer played extremely well against Bayern, which can not be said of most of his teammates. While taking five shots in the match, Sabitzer seems to be finding his attacking flair which he showed so much of last season. Red Bull will look for immediate redemption against Bremen.
D: Emil Forsberg, Forward (RBL, 11.4M, 2%) - Forsberg should get the start at the weekend and will be hoping to get back on the scoresheet. He has two goals on seven shots in his last four games.
VfB Stuttgart v. Borussia Dortmund:
M: Raphaël Guerreiro, Defender (BVB, 17.1M, 13%) - In his first game back from injury, Guerreiro looked fantastic and was unlucky to not come away with more from the match against Frankfurt. Dortmund should be feeling confident about their play after a strong UCL performance midweek against Manchester City, albeit a loss.
D: Konstantinos Mavropanos, Defender (VFB, 4.9M, 0%) - While not expected to keep a clean sheet against Dortmund, Stuttgart should feel good about their chances despite Dortmund’s midweek fixture. All they need to do is look back on the highlights from their first encounter this season for any motivation. Mavropanos was specifically very active on the attack last week with two attempts for glory.
FC Schalke 04 v. FC Augsburg:
M: Daniel Caligiuri, Midfielder (FCA, 12.1M, 4%) - Caligiuri is in a solid run of form at the moment, notching two assists in his last three games. Always a premier chance creator, he will be licking his chops to get back at his former club.
D: Ruben Vargas, Midfielder (FCA, 9.4M, 1%) - Vargas has been spectacular off the bench recently and exceedingly better as a starter last weekend. With two goals and an assist in his last three games, Vargas will look to continue his hot form.
1. FC Köln v. 1. FSV Mainz 05:
M: Jeremiah St. Juste, Defender (M05, 4.9M, 2%) - In his last four games, St. Juste has averaged over nine Fantasy points per game. This has coincided with Mainz’s strong play in recent weeks, unbeaten in their last four. This matchup with the Billy Goats is the most important of the season so far. Mainz are only two points safe above Köln who are in the relegation playoff position.
D: Robert Glatzel, Forward (M05, 6M, 0%) - Having just joined the team in the winter transfer window, Glatzel has found himself as the main man to lead the line. He has started the last two match days for the first time since joining and grabbed a goal in that first start as well.
TSG Hoffenheim v. Bayer 04 Leverkusen:
M: Lucas Alario, Forward (B04, 11.6M, 2%) - Alario has only started three games since February 13th. In those three starts, he has two goals and one assist. When given the minutes, Alario has truly shined this season. Another start this weekend is certainly on the tables.
D: Ihlas Bebou, Forward (TSG,10.1M, 1%) - With Kramarić still expected to miss time, Bebou will have a chance again to be the focal point of the Hoffenheim attack. He has been putting in solid work with his absences, he has one goal on eight shots in the last two games.
