Frankfurt send Jovic back to Real with promises of "continued efforts"

Though the loan-arrangements dictating the stay of Bundesliga professionals with their current clubs almost all run until June 30th, many are--as per usual--being shipped back to their clubs immediately after the conclusion of the season.

Chances that the Real Madrid marksman would remain with the club with which he enjoyed such prolific success between 2017 and 2019 always appeared minimal. It was a widely accepted belief that the arrangement contained no purchase clause.
Rumors that Real and Eintracht could agree on a potential "striker swap" now appear extremely unlikely after Frankfurt's failure to qualify for the 2021/22 Champions' League. Club CFO Oilver Frankenbach nevertheless appeared to suggest that the club would at least try to negotiate with Jovic's parent club.
"We will certainly continue to work on the topic of Luka Jovic," Frankenbach said in a separate statement. As of yet, there has been no comment from incoming club sporting director Markus Krösche.
The Serbian forward has scored just twice in 32 appearances for the Spanish Royals.
