Bayer Leverkusen are understood to be on the verge of signing Andrey Lunev on a free transfer.

According to Bild, Lunev has arrived in Leverkusen to undergo his medical ahead of the move.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper is a free agent after his contract with Zenit St. Petersburg expired.

At BayArena, he is set to become Leverkusen's new number two behind Lukas Hradecky.

Lennart Grill, who was Leverkusen's second-choie goalkeeper last season, is expected to be sent out on loan.
