Wolfsburg sweat over Roussillon injury

Wolfsburg are sweating over the fitness of Jerome Roussillon ahead of the new season.
Jerome Roussillon is in danger of missing Wolfsburg's first game of the new season due to an injury.

According to Kicker, the French left-back is a doubt for Wolfsburg's DFB-Pokal first round clash with Preußen Münster on August 8 after sustaining a thigh injury in a friendly against AS Monaco on Saturday.

"It will take longer than a day for him to recover. It depends on how it goes in the coming days," Wolfsburg coach Mark van Bommel told Kicker on Tuesday.

Roussillon lost his starting place under Oliver Glasner during the 2020/21 campaign, which saw Paulo Otavio emerge as the Wolves' preferred left-back.

In total, Roussillon featured 23 times last season, setting up two goals.
