Sport Bild Report: Bologna emerge as potential buyers for Bremen's Marco Friedl

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that SV Werder Bremen may be close to reaching their targeted transfer surplus with FC Bologna volunteering to take Austrian defender Marco Friedl off the Hanseaten's hands.
After deals to sell off Josh Sargent and Ludwig Augustinsson were completed in the last eight days, Bremen personnel boss Frank Baumann has at least been able to boast about cutting up transfer bait to the tune of some €15 million.

No official confirmation of the impending deal to sell Maximilian Eggestein to Freiburg has come yet, but multiple German media sources report that a deal in the neighborhood of some €5-7 million should be completed soon.

If true, this would push Werder's transfer surplus to some €33 million. There might be more to come soon as, Germany's Sport Bild reports, a buyer has been found for the highest remaining value player.

There had been some interest in former Bayern academy product Marco Friedl from within the Bundesliga, but that has since dried up. As a regular starter for previous Bremen head-coach, Freidl saw his market value rise from €1.5 million in 2018 when to the club initially procured him on loan to a peak of €7.5 million at peak last spring.

Sport Bild reports that Bologna, having acquired the 23-year-old's countryman Marko Arnautovic over the summer, are now prepared to bring a second Werder Bremen veteran with ÖFB credentials south of the Alps.
