Nübel dropped from Germany's Euro 2024 squad, per multiple reports

Alexander Nübel has been omitted from Germany's squad for Euro 2024, according to several reports.

One week before Germany kick off the European Championship on home soil against Scotland, Alexander Nübel has apparently been left out of the final squad.

That's according to Bild and Sky Germany, who both report that the goalkeeper has been omitted from head coach Julian Nagelsmann's final 26-man squad.

Nagelsmann initially named 27 players to his preliminary squad and said at the time that he planned to take four goalkeepers to the tournament.

However, it now appears that the Germany coach has changed his mind.

Nübel's omission means that Germany will head to the Euros with three goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer, Marc-André ter Stegen and Oliver Baumann.

Nübel is coming off an excellent season with Stuttgart, where he played on loan from Bayern Munich. With 30 appearances in the Bundesliga, he helped the Swabians to a sensational second-place finish.

He hasn't been capped by the senior national team yet, but has made 17 appearances for the under-21s.
