Borussia Dortmund appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Olympique Lyon's Rayan Cherki.

According to Sky Germany, the Black and Yellows have reached a verbal agreement in principle with the 20-year-old, with a contract until 2029 on the table.

However, Dortmund have yet to agree on a transfer fee with Olympique Lyon, where he is under contract until 2025. The fee is estimated to be around €15 million.

French media already reported at the end of June that Cherki had decided to join Borussia Dortmund instead of Paris Saint-Germain.

The 20-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on either wing, has made 141 appearances for Lyon, scoring 17 goals and providing 25 assists.

He has also made 20 appearances for France's U21 national team, scoring 11 goals.

In addition to Cherki, Dortmund are also working on the signings of Serhou Guirassy and Pascal Gross. Waldemar Anton has already joined the club from VfB Stuttgart.
