Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeping prospect Jan Olschowsky - training with the club that was supposed to take him on loan - has suffered a knee injury that will nix the deal.

After a loan deal to TSV 1860 München fell through, Borussia Mönchengladbach managed to find a new loan locale to park goalkeeping prospect Jan Olschowsky. The 22-year-old was already training with Dutch second division side BV De Graafschap. A loan deal was all set to be made official. Regrettably, the Germany U20 international suffered a knee injury in Holland. The deal is now off.

Gladbach issued a statement confirming the injury. BMG sporting director Roland Virkus promised the club's "full support" during Olschowsky's rehabilitation process. The homegrown player's playing prospects with his academy side remain scant behind captain Jonas Omlin and the more firmly established Moritz Nicolas. Once considered Gladbach's keeper of the future, Olschowsky's career is once again on hold.
