Bayern Munich confirmed on Tuesday that 19-year-old midfielder Tom Bischof will join the club when his contract with Hoffenheim expires at the end of the season.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bayern's Champions League clash with Feyenoord, head coach Vincent Kompany was asked about the signing and what he thinks the 19-year-old can bring to the team.

“Everyone knows his qualities,” Kompany told reporters, adding:

"He has technical ability, also between the lines. He's strong in attacking play and at set pieces.

“He's a big talent. It's future planning by the club,” said the Bayern coach.

Bischof was also linked with a number of other clubs, including RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The young central midfielder has scored two goals and provided three assists in 24 games for Hoffenheim this season.
