Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made some key saves to help his team keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Hungary on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old was particularly pleased that Germany followed up their 5-1 opening win over Scotland with another convincing performance.
"It was definitely very, very important. We really wanted to confirm the game against Scotland," Neuer said in a post-match interview.
“We are happy that we were so dominant in Stuttgart and deserved to win. The stadiums are always full, the fan camps are always full and the atmosphere is good.”
The win secured Germany a place in the round of 16, but they must first face Switzerland on Sunday.
“Germany is always one of the favorites, but we have to do our homework. Our next game is against the strongest team in the group," said Neuer.
