After a poor run of form, VfL Wolfsburg’s fortunes have improved since Daniel Bauer was appointed interim coach following the sacking of Paul Simonis.

Bauer has guided Die Wölfe to two consecutive wins, but despite the recent positive results, no final decision has yet been made on making him the permanent coach.

“We are in good communication and have had constructive conversations,” Daniel Bauer said at a press conference on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga trip to Freiburg.

“But for now, the focus is on the game against Freiburg. As a team, we want to go into the winter break with three wins in a row that is the priority. And still, we are having good discussions,” Bauer added.

Bauer and Wolfsburg sit 13th in the Bundesliga heading into the weekend.
