Dortmund 'strongly expect' Haaland to return from injury against Mainz

BVB boss Sebastian Kehl has provided an injury update on Erling Haaland.

Borussia Dortmund 'strongly expect' Erling Haaland to recover from injury in time to face Mainz after the international break.

Haaland has missed Dortmund's last three games due to a muscle injury, but Kehl expects him to be fit for the game in two weeks' time.

"I strongly expect Erling to be back on the pitch then," he told Kicker on Sunday.

However, the star striker is unlikely to feature in any of Norway's upcoming games.

"At the moment, Erling is not yet in a position to train, let alone play a game," said Kehl.

"With all understanding for the interests of the association, we must not take any risks with him now. The club must be the most important thing in the end."
