Germany dealt another injury blow

Germany coach Hansi Flick has revealed that Julian Draxler has sustained an injury in training.
Germany have been hit by a new injury blow ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Armenia.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Germany coach Hansi Flick revealed that Julian Draxler has picked up a muscle injury after receiving his first call-up in a year.

"He will definitely be out for a while," Flick told reporters about the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

"I feel sorry for him because he had big plans."

Nico Schlotterbeck and Florian Wirtz are also out with injuries while Joshua Kimmich, Karim Adeyemi, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Niklas Süle are unavailable due to COVID-19 quarantine.

Flick has reacted by calling up Jonathan Tah, Maximilian Arnold, Ridle Baku and Kevin Volland as replacements, and the Germany coach confirmed today that he will not be adding further players to his squad.

"Of course, we imagined everything differently. We are glad that we already qualified for the World Cup in October," admitted Flick.

Germany face Liechtenstein tomorrow before taking on Armenia on Sunday.
