Diallo adds to Dortmund's injury woes in defence

Abdou Diallo was substituted with an injury yesterday and thus joins Borussia Dortmund's injury list.
Borussia Dortmund played the first six games of the season with a back-line consisting of Lukasz Piszczek, Manuel Akanji, Abdou Diallo and Marcel Schmelzer.

Schmelzer, Piszczek and Schmelzer were all ruled out of yesterday's DFB-Pokal game against Union Berlin that ended with a 3-2 win to Dortmund after extra time, and Diallo was only on the pitch for the first 14 minutes before he had to be substituted due to adductor problems.

With Diallo expected to be out for a few weeks, Dortmund are starting to have a problem in defence, says BVB coach Lucien Favre.

"Abdou injured himself very quickly. We don't know yet how serious it is. He will probably be missing the next few weeks. That's not a good signal. We have a real problem," Favre told Ruhr Nachrichten.

Dortmund will take on Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
