Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Dieter Hecking says he would be open to taking on the job as Germany coach if the possibility arises in the future.

"Basically, I could imagine many things that can be implemented with my wife and my family. If at some point, a national federation such as the DFB should ask, it's something I can imagine already," Hecking told Bild.

The current Germany coach, Joachim Löw, is under contract until 2022. Meanwhile, Hecking's deal with Gladbach is set to run out after this season.

Hecking, 54, was hired as Gladbach coach in December 2016. He has oreviously been coaching VfL Wolfsburg, FC Nürnberg, Hannover 96, Alemannia Aachen, VfB Lübeck and SC Verl.
