Jovic touted as a possible replacement for Lewandowski
Luka Jovic is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Bayern München, who have started identifying possible replacements for Robert Lewandowski.
Out-of-favor Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic is seen as a possible successor for Robert Lewandowski at Bayern München, according to AZ.
Lewandowski is said to have targeted a move away from Bayern, but Bayern board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic recently emphasized that the 33-year-old star striker will not be going anywhere this summer.
However, selling Lewandowski might not be totally out of the question if the transfer fee is right – reports range from 40 to 60 million euros – and a suitable successor can be found.
The likes of Darwin Nunez, Patrik Schick, Romelu Lukaku, Sebastien Haller and Erling Haaland have already been mentioned as possible replacements, and Luka Jovic has now joined the growing list of candidates, according to AZ.
Jovic joined Real Madrid for a whopping €63 million in 2019, but should be allowed to leave for significantly less, as he has struggled to live up to the expectations at Santiago Bernabeu.
Fittingly, Sky Germany reported earlier this week that the 24-year-old is keen on a move back to the Bundesliga.
