Hradecky close to extending his Leverkusen contract

Kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced talks to extend Lukas Hradecky's contract.
Lukas Hradecky could soon extend his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Kicker, the 32-year-old goalkeeper is on the verge of penning a new deal with 'Die Werkself'.

Vladimir Hradecky, father and agent of the Finn, has traveled to Leverkusen, with talks between the parties understood to be at an advanced stage.

"The intention to extend is there from both sides. Everything else is open," said Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes.

"Lukas is enormously important as a type, as an identification figure and in the dressing room, and as a player he is very quick to react and strong in one-on-one situations. He is an important player, who takes responsibility."

Hradecky's current deal expires in 2023.
