VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Maximilian Arnold has stated he would "love" to be part of Germany's World Cup squad, but admits he doesn't know if he's part of head coach Hansi Flick's plans.

"We were in contact again after my international games in November. But I don't know exactly where I stand," said Arnold in an interview with Kicker.

"I'd love to be there. But if it doesn't happen, I'll keep my fingers crossed in front of the TV."

28-year-old Arnold last played for Germany in a World Cup qualifier against Armenia in November and was overlooked for selection in March and June.
