Since Germany's disappointing World Cup in Russia, some have called for FC Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen to take over the role as Germany's number one keeper from Bayern München's Manuel Neuer.

However, the 32-year-old Bayern keeper, who is also the captain of the team, still sees himself as Germany's best keeper.

"I'm getting older, but I don't feel slower or weaker, so I won't say that someone else is ahead of me," Neuer told Sport Bild and added:

"I've been a captain for a while, so I know my job, and I'm happy to have hungry players who want to listen and to be coached. That's a new situation that I enjoy."

Neuer has represented Germany 84 times since he made his debut in 2009.
