Confirmed: New injury sidelines Dorsch through 2022

FC Augsburg confirmed the loss of Germany U21 international Niklas Dorsch for the rest of the calendar year with a new metatarsal injury that will require surgery on Tuesday.
Niklas Dorsch's comeback from injury has unfortunately been derailed. On Tuesday, FC Augsburg confirmed that the 24-year-old had suffered a new metatarsal fracture that will require surgery. The German U21 international is thus lost for the rest of 2022. Dorsch incurred the new injury while on a rehab assignment for the Augsburg U23s. He has not made a Bundesliga appearance yet this season.

Dorsch joins a long list of long-term injured at Augsburg that includes Felix Udoukhai, Reece Oxford, André Hahn. FCA trainer Enrico Maaßen will also have to replace both of his starting center-halves this weekend against Köln. Captain Jefferey Gouweleew and Maximilian Bauer both earned suspensions following a melee in last weekend''s fixture against Wolfsburg.
