Germany coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Thomas Müller and Antonio Rüdiger will miss the game, with the duo still working to get back to full fitness after injury.
Marc-André ter Stegen will also miss the game, as he was forced to stay back in Germany due to a stomach bug.
"We will see who needs a break or who needs 45 minutes. We'll give it a lot of thought. We want everyone to be on the same level if possible, when we get down to it. It may well be that we rest one or two players tomorrow. Thomas Müller and Antonio Rüdiger will return to team training first thing on Saturday," Hansi Flick told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
"Fundamentally, there are going to be question marks throughout the tournament as well. We have to adapt to the conditions. We have a big squad so we don’t have any major concerns. As soon as Marc-André ter Stegen can travel, he will. He’s on the road to recovery."
Werder Bremen forward Niclas Füllkrug was sitting alongside Flick at the press conference and could make his debut for Germany.
"The boys have really accepted me. I am happy to be a part of all of it. I want to be successful with the boys," said Füllkrug.
"I am trying to take a lot from training and to get up to speed with the tactics. I am trying to integrate myself in the way that the team needs me."
Wednesday's game will be a tough task for Oman, who are 64 places below Germany in the FIFA world rankings and who have never featured at a World Cup.
Germany won 1-0 in a friendly in 1998 in the only previous meeting between the two teams.
