At the moment, Nice manager Lucien Favre is mentioned among the main candidates to succeed Peter Stöger as Borussia Dortmund manager. And if Favre indeed takes the job at Dortmund, he wants to bring Mario Balotelli with him, TuttoMercatoWeb reports.

Nice signed the controversial striker on a free transfer in 2016, and since then Balotelli has repaid the club's faith in him, scoring 41 times in 64 appearances so far. And according to the report by TuttoMercatoWeb, Favre is so satisfied with Balotelli's performances that he plans to take the striker with him to the Signal Iduna Park if he lands the Dortmund job.

Borussia Dortmund still haven't announced who will take over from Peter Stöger when his contract runs out after this season, but according to Sky Sport News, the club have reached an agreement with Favre who is prepared to take the job.

Balotelli, 27, has previously played for Lumezzane, Inter, Manchester City, AC Milan and Liverpool. He has appeared 33 times and scored 13 goals for the Italian national team.
