BVB expect announcement on Reus in "seven to ten days"

Speaking ahead of kickoff in Dortmund's Saturday evening league fixture against Frankfurt, BVB trainer Edin Terzic and club boss Hans Joachim Watzke have issued an update on the future of squad skipper Marco Reus.
German footballing legend Marco Reus once again had to make do with a spot on the bench in Borussia Dortmund's Saturday night victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. Speaking to Sky Germany ahead of kickoff, BVB trainer Edin Terzic insisted that he still respected and valued the 33-year-old.

"We don't have an issue there," Terzic clarified. "I don't express my appreciation by having a player on the pitch for 90 minutes. I do that by treating them with respect. It's all about team success. I really enjoy working with Marco Reus."

At last check, reports that Reus was in agreement with his long-time club on a one-year-contract extension were denied by Reus' agent. Also speaking in a pre-match interview, club boss Acki Watzke effectively confirmed that the ball was in Reus' court. Ostensibly, an offer has been tendered.

"I won't reveal which way it's going," Watzke noted, "but will say that he is an extremely valued player at Borussia Dortmund. I think we'll have a decision in seven to ten days."

Reus hasn't given any indication that he's pondering retirement in the same way as his former German national team colleague Jonas Hector has been. Hector, who is one year younger than Reus, announced that he would be hanging up his cleats today.
