Shuto Machino is officially a Borussia Mönchengladbach player.

Die Fohlen have confirmed the arrival of the Japanese forward, who makes the switch to Borussia-Park from Holstein Kiel.

Machino, 25, has inked a contract running until 2029 with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

“Shuto is a versatile striker who can feature in a number of different positions, which provides us with various options in attack,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach managing director for sport Roland Virkus.

“He proved last season that he is capable of hitting double figures for goals in the Bundesliga. We are delighted that he’s chosen to join Borussia.”

Machino, who was linked with a number of other clubs, said:

“I really wanted to join Borussia, which is why I’m delighted that the move has now gone through.

“Now, I want to do everything I can in order to help the team as quickly as possible.”
