Mainz confirm Ngankam arrival

Mainz have signed Jessic Ngankam on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.
After confirming the capture of Nadiem Amiri from Bayer Leverkusen late on Wednesday, Mainz have made another signing just before the transfer deadline.

On Thursday morning, the Nullfünfer announced that Jessic Ngankam has joined the club on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season.

"Jessic is a young, physically robust player who brings a lot of speed and enthusiasm to the game," said Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel.

"He made a name for himself with strong performances at Hertha BSC, but his development at Eintracht Frankfurt stalled a bit. Here in Mainz, he now has the chance to make a fresh start and earn playing time and goals."

Jessic Ngankam said he's "looking forward to the new challenge" he'll face in Mainz.

"I think I'll fit in well with the team and the system here. I already know some of the guys, like Jonny Burkardt, Marco Richter and Tom Krauß, and now I want to give my all with my new teammates to make sure we stay in the league," he said.
