After 118 top flight matches, VfB Stuttgart captain Atakan Karazor finally scored his first goal in the German top division during last night's 3-2 home win over 1. FC Union Berlin. The 28-year-old's inaugural Bundesliga tally literally came as a gift when FCU keeper Frederik Rønnow telegraphed a horrible clearance directly to him. Such a present caught him off guard and Karazor seemed unsure as to how he should celebrate.

"I didn't know what to do," Karazor remarked in his post-match interview with German broadcaster DAZN yesterday evening, "I could have celebrated in ten different ways at one. In the end, I opted to run over to the boys on the bench as a means of demonstrating that we're a strongly [cohesive] team."

"The boys have always believed in me," Karazor continued, "I'm glad that they were so happy for me. One can use the whole second half as a lesson. Nick gave us a brilliant spark. We didn't give up after conceding that [second] goal. We just proved again how good we really are."
