VfB Stuttgart have decided not to sign a replacement for Dan-Axel Zagadou, who has sustained a long-term injury, according to Sky Germany.

The Swabian club made contact with Stade Brest's Lilian Brassier and Mason Holgate, currently on loan at Southampton from Everton, but apparently neither will be arriving.

Stuttgart even made an offer for Brassier, wanting to take him on loan with an obligation to buy, but Brest refused as they only want to sell him, according to the report.

As for Holgate, Stuttgart have apparently decided not to pursue a deal after making contact about his availability.
