Since it was announced a week ago that Thomas Tuchel is stepping down as Bayern Munich coach at the end of the season, several names have been suggested as possible replacements.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is widely considered to be the frontrunner, but the Bavarians have begun lining up alternatives should their pursuit of the Spaniard prove unsuccessful.

That's according to Sky Germany, who reports that Brighton & Hove Albion coach Roberto De Zerbi is one of those alternatives, with new Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said to hold the Italian coach in high regard.

The report also claims that De Zerbi has a release clause enabling him to leave Brighton at the end of the season, with Barcelona also monitoring his situation.
